Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (OUTAGE COORDINATOR) in the Public Works Department of This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management. NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will review Facilities Support work plans and specifications for requirements of utility outages, lay-down areas, road closures and dig notifications. You will analyze and evaluate outage requests from the regional outage coordinator and review for completeness, accuracy and compliance with existing policies. You will act as the primary technical advisor and expeditor to the Public Works Department for resolution of utility outage coordination for facilities support work with other functions and operations at the installation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Outside applicants (i.e., those without current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service) your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Analyzing and reviewing outage requests; 2) Reviewing Facilities Support work plans and specifications for requirements of outages, lay down areas, and closures; 3) Monitoring outages from start to finish; 4) Providing detailed briefings on facilities projects related to utilities outages; and 5) Reviewing and recommending approval/disapproval of utilities outages requests.
