Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description The primary responsibility of this role is to lead in quality development and confirmation of new model plastic shop equipment and processes to ensure KPIs are achieved prior to the North American Manufacturing Centers hand-over milestone. Responsibilities + Provide hands-on support of new model equipment development regarding risk assessment, specification, installation, and trials. + Identify equipment problems and implement countermeasures. + Lead installation activities related to interior/exterior plastics equipment/processes, robot teaching, trial support, coordinate trial activities, and assist NAMCs as needed. + Assist in specification reviews/vendor trials for new process equipment. + Support standardized work development, team member training, and quality control plan documentation. + Support engineering, manufacturing activities, and technical reporting. + Support equipment commissioning through Kanban process. Essential Skills + Experience in PLC troubleshooting/programming such as Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens, etc. + Experience in new model launch for automotive and/or manufacturing. + Experience in robot teaching such as Denso, Yasakawa, Nachi, Kawasaki, or similar. + Experience in automotive manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, robots, assembly work cells, punch machines, milling machines, etc. + Technical degree or higher. Additional Skills & Qualifications + TUV technician certification. + OSHA10 certification. + Minimum of five years automotive experience preferred. + Experience with TECS (Digital Kanban). + Passed TBP through panel. Work Environment This role is part of the implementation arm of engineering and is responsible for ensuring all equipment is up and running according to standards and specifications. These positions are project-based, with projects lasting anywhere from 9-18 months. Travel is typically required, with peak times involving 12 days out at designated NAMC projects. Managers are flexible with schedules and work/life balance. There are ample full-time opportunities available, and this position offers 10 PTO days and 9 paid holidays per year. Any hours worked over 40 are compensated at time and a half, and all travel arrangements are taken care of for contractors.
