Position Summary:
ISI is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support multiple technical projects within a federal construction environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, project management, and financial oversight. This role requires collaboration across cross-functional teams, including engineering, construction, and finance, to ensure project success and compliance with federal regulations.
Responsibilities/Job Functions
Project Support:
Assist in the management of multiple technical projects, including full budget and financial tracking for each project.Participate in project meetings to document project status, action items, risks, and next steps.Collaborate with Finance, Project Managers, and Contracting Officers to maintain project budgets and status dashboards.Assist with monthly invoice reviews (pencil requisitions) to ensure construction work aligns with the Schedule of Values and that payments to contractors are accurate based on the percentage of work completed.Document the technical, financial, and personnel aspects of each project to ensure comprehensive project records.Financial Responsibilities:
Assist in the development of spend plans, budget exhibits, and reports.Respond to financial audit requests and assist in the research and closing of unliquidated obligations.Monitor and report execution performance against plans.Learn and perform division procurement transactions, including PRs (Purchase Requests), MIPRs (Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests), amendments, obligations, de-obligations, and de-commitments.Prepare or review supporting documents for procurement transactions.Assist with extracting status of funds and other related financial reports.File new work with previously filed documents to maintain organized project records.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, construction, and finance, to ensure project success.Ensure that all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date, including technical, financial, and personnel records.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline.
Experience: 5-10 years of experience in a related field.Knowledge:Strong understanding of engineering principles.Basic knowledge of business principles sufficient to project and monitor expenses.Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.Clearance: Must be able to pass and maintain a Public Trust clearance (HSPD-12 fingerprint background check).Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a federal or government construction environment.Familiarity with federal procurement processes, including Purchase Requests (PR) and Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs).Experience with financial tracking and reporting in a project management context.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Physical Requirements:
