Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description Our client is looking for an Engineering Technician to join their Product Validation Team. This is a technically focused R&D Technician role. You will build and test virtually all parts, components, and systems of their drone products and ground systems. This includes the drop door hatch, body, circuit boards, wiring harnesses, fuselage, propellers, electric motors, and the droid which delivers the packages. You will work with the first iterations of these new products, requiring you to read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings. You will communicate quality issues to the engineering team and use hand tools (screwdrivers, torque screwdrivers, calipers, and micrometers) daily. You must meet aggressive deadlines, provide support during testing, and communicate build results, ideas, and problems to your supervisor and Design Engineers. Familiarity with Digital Manufacturing Tools & Software such as CAD and 3D Printers is essential. The team is in crunch time to launch their product by the end of September. We need someone who can perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and is reliable. Hard Skills + Electro-mechanical assembly experience with hand & power tools (manual mills, bandsaws, screwdrivers, wrenches, torque drivers, drills, calipers/measurement tools, etc.) + Soldering skills (preferred) + Ability to read SOPs, technical instructions, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings + Familiarity with Digital Manufacturing Tools & Software such as CAD, 3D Printers Soft Skills + Great problem-solving skills + Good judgment + Proactivity + Strong communication skills + Strong attention to detail + Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously + Ability to meet aggressive deadlines Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). Work Site This is a fully on-site position in South San Francisco, California. Work Environment The team is led by Justine, your direct manager, and consists of 14 people in total. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm, with some Saturdays highly encouraged. No PTO for consultants, 10 holidays off but no holiday pay.
