Engineering Technician

Job Summary 

Engineering technician will work closely with Engineering and Mine Production Groups focused on regular sampling, monitoring, testing, and mapping of the underground mine and overlying surface.  This role will be primarily in the mine to monitor production and environmental conditions such as ground movement, ventilation, and subsidence.  Individual required to successfully measure, ensure data integrity, analyze, process and communicate results.  Attention to detail and applicable skillset is required to identify and communicate any potential concerns related to movement or other anomalies.

Must be able to work independently with little instruction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Surveying Mapping Sampling Analyze Face Quality Ground Control Inspections Monitoring / Tracking / Testing Roof Bolt Ventilation Convergence Subsidence Drafting as Assigned Environmental Tasks as Assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

Must have PS or show continued progress towards certification Mine surveying experience is preferred College degree preferred AutoCAD experience is required Experience working with surveying equipment such as total station and level as well as other data logging equipment Ability to work in an underground environment Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Work Environment 

Field work will include underground and surface industrial environment where potential dust, high temperatures, and other industrial and mine related hazards may be encountered.  High work will be needed for measurement and monitoring activities.
