Summary: Seeking an Engineering Technician proficient in AutoCAD and experienced in OSP Telecom construction for a contract role involving both CAD Drafting and Field Surveying tasks.

Requirements:

Proficient with AutoCAD

Knowledge/experience with OSP (Outside Plant) Telecom construction

2+ years in a related technical role

General computer/technology skills (MS Office tools; proficient with Tablet, Smartphone)

Capable and willing to perform Field Surveying / Verification / Data Collection tasks

Valid Driver's license, clean driving record

Willing to work outdoors 50%

Preferred Skills:

Associates Degree

GIS or Land Surveying field experience

Experience in utilities (natural gas, cable, electrical, telecom, broadband)

Re-design underground experience

Responsibilities:

Perform CAD Drafting and Field Surveying tasks

Use surveying equipment to locate utility infrastructure for fiber to the home underground construction planning

Take field notes and utilize GPS for plan design of new/existing power and communication facilities

Document field data and take measurements of existing utilities attached to power or communication company poles

Complete and file permit applications

Utilize software programs to analyze and compile collected field data

Record data using a wireless tablet in the field

Stand/walk up to 8 hours per day during fieldwork

Draw utility plan sets using AutoCAD after collecting data
