Job Title: Engineering Technician
Job Description

This position is working in the die development group for this facility. The dies are components that go into a photodiode, one of the products the company is working on and testing. The die, a small piece of semiconductor material, forms the core of the photodiode and is sensitive to light, generating electrical current when photons hit it. The role involves reliability testing and equipment maintenance for die prototype production, with responsibilities split between data analysis and equipment repair. The candidate will use Labview and Excel to evaluate and present data and will eventually supervise a team of technicians.

ResponsibilitiesOperate, repair, maintain, and continuously improve semiconductor processing equipment.Process production wafers through various semiconductor processing tools.Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Pilot production, collaborating with Engineering to introduce new products into manufacturing.Use various test and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair systems.Maintain necessary records, reports, calibrations, and parts inventory, including reordering parts.Proactively drive safe practices within the factory and follow site safety policies.Work in a clean room environment wearing a clean room smock.Communicate day-to-day events, direction, and repairs both in written and verbal form, through logs and passdowns.Excel within a changing environment while working with others in a positive and cooperative manner to meet common goals and objectives in support of production and engineering.Maintain required production records, including entry of test data into SPC databases.Essential SkillsElectronicsTroubleshootingReliability testingAssemblyTest equipment operationWiringData analysisMechanical aptitudeDocumentationAdditional Skills & Qualifications3+ years of experience working with processing equipment and electronicsExperience with data analysisProficiency in Excel for graphing, organizing, and summarizing dataWork Environment

This is a lab and prototype environment featuring a clean room. The team is smaller, consisting of about 20-30 employees total, with a direct team of about 6 members. The role offers growth potential, eventually leading to a supervisory position over a team of growing technicians. The company is a tier 3 supplier for major telecommunications companies, providing the opportunity to work on products with a 110GHz frequency.
