Engineering Technician
Job Title: Engineering Technician Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform complex electro-mechanical assembly, including soldering wires, crimping, and using various hand tools and torque tools. You will be responsible for reading assembly drawings, work instructions, and ATP Test Procedures, as well as completing all necessary documents. You should be familiar with test equipment and setups, including power supplies, switch boxes, and test cables. A strong knowledge of computer systems is essential, as is the ability to navigate network drives to retrieve reference documents and drawings. Responsibilities + Perform complex electro-mechanical assembly, including soldering wires and crimping. + Use various hand tools and torque tools. + Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and ATP Test Procedures. + Complete all necessary documentation. + Set up and operate test equipment, including power supplies, switch boxes, and test cables. + Utilize software testing programs and navigate network drives to retrieve reference documents and drawings. + Troubleshoot wiring connectivity and PCB assemblies down to the component level. + Rework and replace PCB components, including SMT component soldering and replacement. + Read and understand electrical schematics related to PCB and wiring assemblies. Essential Skills + Expertise in electrical subsystems. + Experience in soldering, electro-mechanical assembly, and reading drawings. + Ability to read a bill of materials. + Proficiency in working with PCB down to the subsystem and component level. + Strong understanding of mechanical, schematic, and soldering techniques. + Proficiency in using test equipment and hand tools. + 5-7+ years of relevant experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in troubleshooting complex electrical issues. + Comfortable with testing equipment. Work Environment You will work in a manufacturing environment alongside technicians, assemblers, and the quality department. The role primarily supports the military, defense, and aerospace industries, which rely on stable government funding. The work environment includes handling test equipment, hand tools, and working with various electrical components.
