Engineering Technician
Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description We are seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team. This role will involve both office and field work, including interfacing with clients, managing projects, and gathering field data for power lines. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be well-organized, and possess a customer-service mindset. This position requires local travel around the DFW area, with occasional overnight stays in West Texas. Responsibilities + Substation Design + Coordinate with Right of Way and Railroad authorities + Daily field documentation + Project management + Gather field data for power lines + Take pictures of equipment on power lines + Log all acquired data + Communicate with clients via phone and email + Minimal AutoCAD work, with training provided Essential Skills + Professionalism and organizational skills + Strong communication and people skills + Proficiency in computer data entry + Experience with meeting scheduling software + Ability to interface with clients + Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions + Clean driving record and valid driver's license Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous telecom experience is preferred but not required + Associate's degree with an interest in Utilities + Experience with GPS survey equipment is preferred + High school diploma or equivalent required + Proficiency with computers, iPads, and digital cameras Work Environment This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions as well as working from home. The position requires local travel around the DFW area, primarily Fort Worth and Weatherford, with occasional travel to West Texas for overnight stays. Candidates must be located off the IH35 Corridor.
