Engineering Technician
**Job Summary:** We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented **Engineering Technician** to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with **Altium Designer** and be proficient in designing, testing, and troubleshooting electronic systems and components. This role involves assisting engineers with the development of circuit boards, prototypes, and other electronic systems while ensuring high standards of quality and functionality. **Key Responsibilities:** + **PCB Design and Development:** + Utilize **Altium Designer** for creating and modifying PCB layouts, schematics, and components. + Assist in the design and development of prototype electronics, including circuit boards, sensors, and assemblies. + Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure designs meet functional requirements and industry standards. + **Testing and Troubleshooting:** + Conduct tests on prototypes and finished products, documenting results and identifying areas for improvement. + Use a variety of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators to troubleshoot circuits and systems. + Identify and resolve issues in both hardware and software related to electronics design. + **Documentation and Reporting:** + Prepare technical documentation, including schematics, reports, and design specifications. + Assist in maintaining product revisions and version control through Altium's integrated tools. + Ensure all designs are in compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards. + **Collaboration:** + Work closely with other engineers, designers, and production teams to ensure timely and successful project completion. + Provide technical support to production teams during the transition from prototype to full-scale manufacturing. + **Continuous Improvement:** + Contribute ideas and suggestions for process improvements in PCB design, prototyping, and testing. + Stay up to date with advancements in Altium Designer and other related engineering tools and technologies. **Required Qualifications:** + **Education:** + Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred). + **Experience:** + Proven experience working with **Altium Designer** for PCB design and development. + Experience in troubleshooting and testing electronic circuits and systems. + Knowledge of electronic components, circuit design principles, and industry standards. + **Technical Skills:** + Proficiency in **Altium Designer** (PCB design, schematic capture, component libraries). + Familiarity with other engineering tools, such as simulation software, schematic capture tools, and PCB fabrication processes. + Strong understanding of electrical components, digital and analog circuits, and their applications. + Ability to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and multimeters. + **Soft Skills:** + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. + Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. + **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with fabrication processes such as 3D Printing and Manual/CNC Machining. + Knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and software development for electronics. Experience using Arduino. + Familiarity with manufacturing processes and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles.
