Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Engineering Technician. Duty Location: Lakewood, Colorado Responsibilities Major Duties of this position include: Creates Statements of Work for contracts, creates Independent Government Cost Estimates and Tracks Contractor performance during the life of the contract. Enters data in databases. Communicates with Regional, Area, and field office staff engineers and contractors verbally to question or clarify data received, request additional or missing data, and discuss data inconsistencies. Applies principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing contract performance. Manages multiple contracts at a time. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include technical work in: Drafting, surveying construction, estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems. Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents. Examples are trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as: Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes. Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated. Specialized Experience In addition to meeting the Basic Qualification requirement, applicants must meet the following Specialized Experience: To qualify at the GS-10 grade level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-09 level in federal service having demonstrated experience in contracting as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), and operation and upkeep of database systems. To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-10 level in federal service having demonstrated experience in contracting as a Contracting Off icer's Representative (COR),performance of technical analysis of schedules, proposals, and modifications for recommendations to Acquisition Staff, use of contract law knowledge and operation and upkeep of database systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 01/31/2025. Education This position does not allow substituting education for experience. Additional Information You may be required to serve an initial probationary period. Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and you may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval.
