Engineering Technician

Job Description:

This position is responsible for working with senior engineering staff to successfully startup and commission projects at Cambria. This person will work directly with the project engineering staff during design, installation, and commissioning of projects. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of hands-on engineering projects at the Cambria.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage and complete multiple engineering projects at the Cambria Plant.

Work directly with senior project engineers to implement projects

Work directly with line supervisors, process engineers, and managers.

Stay with the line managers after project commissioning to trouble shoot and report problems back to the senior engineers and automation.

Create presentations and documentation for the operational team including SOPs

Learn how to prepare capital expenditure requests and route to the appropriate people for approval.

Learn how to create and follow project time lines using Microsoft Project.

Learn how to create technical documents such as Project Scope of work, and Project close-out documents.

Learn how to compare functionality and price when investigating new equipment options.

Work to continuously improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of projects.

Develop ideas and solutions to production problems as they arise at the facility.

Provide support for projects as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to read and write in English to complete required documentation

Excellent computer skills

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or other related Engineering discipline

Experience: None needed

Systems: N/A

Preferred Qualifications:

High computer proficiency (SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project.)

Strong statistical/math skills, and ability to utilize spreadsheets

Scheduling and Organizational skills

Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills

Strong mechanical aptitude

Ability to read and interpret blueprints with the assistance of a senior engineer

Excellent communication skills

Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels in the company

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and with a team

Ability to meet project deadlines and work under pressure

Ability to work varying and extended hours as needed

Physical Requirements: 

Work at varying heights, including on the rooftop of the buildings

Lift up to 60 lbs.

Push/pull 100 lbs.

Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaks

Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria 

Participate in daily stretch and flex exercises 

Work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions 

Walk up and down steps multiple times throughout shift 

Bend over multiple times throughout shift 

Task Based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements: 

Steel toed boots

Hearing Protection 

Safety glasses

Cut-proof gloves

Latex gloves

Face shield 

High visibility vest


 

 Cambria’s starting hourly range for this position is $18.00-$24.00. Hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training.
