Job Title: Engineering Technician

Job Description

Actalent is seeking an Engineering Test Technician to work in our testing lab with products that are nearing the end of the New Product Introduction (NPI) phases. The new prototypes are ready to go into validation stages and be tested for functionality and durability. You will help design testing fixtures (mainly mechanical), run the tests, collect data, and analyze the results with the engineering team. You will also retool tests or provide final result data.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in creating mechanical tests, including designing test fixtures, developing and documenting test methods, and validating these methods.Execute approved test methods to support new product verification.Maintain accurate records, document test results, and provide written and verbal summaries of any issues encountered during development.Set up and operate both manual and automated test equipment to perform mechanical tests.Work with very small components and execute tests that have already been developed, documenting the results.Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues independently.Essential SkillsExperience with manual test equipment such as tensile testers, LCR meters, controlled water baths, and pressure test setups.Ability to develop and execute mechanical tests.Strong understanding of mechanical principles.Ability to maintain accurate records and document test results.Proficiency in using Excel for data documentation.Hands-on skills in troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues.Additional Skills & QualificationsMechanical aptitude, ability to solder, drill, tap, attach physical pieces together, and build something from scratch.Experience in designing or helping design tests (mechanical or electrical).Ability to provide ideas and recommendations on how a fixture would work or be built based on previous experience.Basic knowledge of schematic documentation.Work Environment

The work environment is an engineering lab setting involving both office and bench-type work. You will be working with manual and automated test equipment, handling very small components, and documenting results primarily using Excel. The role offers a busy and engaging work atmosphere with a 12-month contract-to-hire opportunity and 2 weeks of paid time off.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
