Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Field Technician to perform visual inspections of roadway conditions within the assigned district. The role involves using a tablet to document various issues such as drainage problems, overgrowth of vegetation, damaged signs, guardrails, fencing, and faded roadway markings. Reports need to be submitted in real-time while on the road. This position requires adherence to company and DOT safety standards.
ResponsibilitiesPerform visual inspections of roadway conditions in assigned district.Document findings such as drainage issues, overgrowth of vegetation, damaged signs, guardrails, fencing, and faded roadway markings using a tablet.Submit reports in real-time while on the road.Plan weekly inspections in collaboration with City/County Inspector.Abide by company and DOT safety standards.Essential SkillsExperience working outdoors.Ability to work independently.Strong work ethic and self-motivation.Experience in field reporting and inspection.Knowledge of highway and transportation systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with GDOT or similar transportation agencies.Field technician or materials tester experience.Experience in roadway and infrastructure inspection.Willingness to learn and take direction.Ability to work with a partner.Work Environment
The work environment is 100% field-based, typically working in a truck with a partner. Travel is limited to the assigned district with no overnight travel required. The company provides all necessary equipment including company vehicle, fuel card, boot vouchers, heavy-duty jackets, phones, TIC preventing clothing, new reflective shirts, and anti-sun gear. The role involves performing inspections and assessments across various counties, with approximately 50 to 60 inspections per county.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
