Location: Onsite – Carlsbad, CA
Pay Range: $40 - $52 per hour (based on skills and qualifications)

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our leading client in the pharma industry in Carlsbad, CA. In this crucial role, you will help maintain the site’s infrastructure, ensuring efficient operations and supporting critical project initiatives.

Safety First: Always prioritize safety by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
System Expertise: Operate, maintain, and optimize HVAC systems, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, water systems, electrical equipment, generators, and fire systems.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Troubleshoot, root cause, and address equipment failures and performance issues, driving continuous improvement.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute PM plans and corrective work orders to ensure long-term reliability and efficiency.
Project Support: Assist with the installation, commissioning, and turnover of new equipment, as well as manage small projects and site shutdowns.
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors to maintain the facility’s infrastructure.
Documentation & Planning: Use CMMS systems to manage work orders, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contingency plans.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of industrial experience in a GMP environment (biotech/biopharma preferred) with a degree, or 5+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, air compressors, pumps, chillers, and other related utility systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues and failures.
Experience using CMMS (e.g., BMRAM) for work order management.
Knowledge of OSHA and Environmental regulations.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
A “can-do” attitude with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing small capital projects (up to $75K).
EPA Universal certification.
Familiarity with change controls, CAPAs, and deviations in a GMP environment.
Energy management experience is a plus.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office, Building Management Systems, and CMMS.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $52.00 per hour
