Job Title: Engineering Test Technician
Job Description

As an Engineering Test Technician, you will troubleshoot and investigate problems related to the design and operation of test cells. You will verify that laboratory equipment is calibrated, assist in designing systems for lab or production functions, set up products for testing, and perform all necessary steps to conduct prescribed and specialized tests. Additionally, you will investigate and troubleshoot test equipment-related issues, document findings, and recommend corrective or improvement changes to Design Engineering. You will also be responsible for the design and upkeep of lab data acquisition systems and support test data management.

ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and investigate problems related to the design and operation of test cells.Verify that laboratory equipment is current with respect to calibration.Assist with designing systems for lab or other production functions.Set up products for tests and perform all necessary steps to conduct prescribed and specialized tests.Investigate and troubleshoot test equipment-related problems, document findings, and recommend corrective/improvement changes to Design Engineering.Design and maintain lab data acquisition systems and support test data management.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsTroubleshootingMechanical skillsExperience with test equipment and lab systemsProficient in HVAC systems and plumbing designKnowledge of prototype development and research & developmentEngineering testing experienceExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalProficient computer skills, including MS Office SuiteAbility to work well in a matrix team environmentKnowledge of instrumentation related to refrigeration and gas combustion equipmentFormal training or experience in LabVIEW or similar programming software for test automationAbility to read and interpret safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and proceduresStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsRequires a Min Voc-Tech degree in HVAC with 0 - 2 years of experienceKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles, six sigma, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA)Familiarity with AutoCAD, Pro-E, PLCs, and controlsWork Environment

The role involves working in an engineering prototyping and R&D environment. You will use advanced laboratory and test equipment, and engage in process controls and associated processes. The work requires a meticulous approach to documentation and problem-solving in a collaborative team setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $55000.00/yr.
