Our work depends on Engineering Technician I joining our team to MK 41 VLS HM&E equipment is maintained and tested to the stringent VLS requirements to maintain National Security.

HOW AN ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● This technician performs simple routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures. Work is checked in progress or on completion.
● Will work with GDIT VLS Team to ensure operational status of contracted VLS HM&E work is completed to required procedures and specifications.
● This person performs one or a combination of such typical duties as: Basic maintenance and troubleshooting, fleet support, operational testing of new and overhauled valves, bench testing, assembling components and subcomponents, and installing equipment into ships.

● Will work with a competitive and highly trusted GDIT VLS Team
● To support the GDIT VLS Team provides ensures the Fleet and Program are maintained to the highest levels.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: High School Diploma
● Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience
● Required Technical Skills: Ability to Remove, Overhaul, Test, and/or Install Relief Valves, Marotta Valves, Hy-Check Valves, Root(Gate) and Isolation (Butterfly) System Valves, and Hydrostatic testing and certification of Hoses, Valves, and Tanks in accordance with NAVSEA requirements, Navy MRCs, Authorized Procedures, and Technical Manuals.
● Security Clearance Level: Secret
● Required Skills and Abilities: Problem Solving, Communication, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and understanding of Test Equipment/Gauge Calibration.
● Preferred Skills: Military training and experience with power/hand tools.
● Location: Chesapeake, VA and regional area
●US Citizenship Required
