The Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting engineering prototype, alpha, beta, pre-pilot, pilot unit builds, and other related tasks as the need arises to support NPD and sustaining engineering projects. This includes mechanical, electrical and refrigeration system problem solving. Instrumenting units with thermocouples, transducers and data acquisition systems, conducting testing, etc.
A day in the Life:
Instrumentation of prototype units, systems, and fixtures.
Conduct product evaluation testing and fixing at system, subsystem, and component level per ETPs (Engineering Test Procedures).
Help conduct and setup agency tests e.g. UL, CE, CSA etc.
Automation of processes including data acquisition, data reporting, and testing procedures.
Work closely with engineering and production team members to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely execution of required prototyping, fabrication and testing work.
Assist in building/wiring of prototype systems and test fixtures.
Responsible for maintaining, organizing, and managing inventory of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure availability and readiness for use.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in a technical/engineering environment.
Experience with ULT/refrigerator manufacturing is preferred.
Experience with lab testing equipment and systems.
Strong computer skills (MS Office and testing software).
High levels of self-discipline, drive, and a proven ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment.
Willingness and ability to work with issues on factory floor and have proven experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Proven ability to work on multiple tasks concomitantly (Multitasking).

Educational Qualifications:
AS or higher in the related fields or equivalent work experience
