Job Overview The role of the Engineering Technician II (SCA 30082) is to provide customers with shipboard & shore systems installation support, systems sustainment support, groom support & trouble ticket support, (CONUS & OCONUS). This position reports directly to the VIDS Group in Chesapeake, VA. Pay rate- $25.00/hourly Work Model: Onsite/In-Office Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Working closely with the government sponsor(s) and other contractors/subcontractors in federal facilities. Provide infrastructure installation and troubleshooting support Implementation of infrastructure solutions Provide copper and fiber termination and slicing support Operation of fiber copper and wireless test equipment Coordinate with manager and supervisors and apprise them of their progress Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: Must be a U.S citizen. High School diploma or GED Four (4) years’ experience working in the engineering industry supporting shipboard & shore infrastructure environment or Associate degree in C4ISR systems, Engineering Technology, or equivalent. Experience with DoD, National, EIA/TIA and BICSI technical and OSHA safety standards. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications. Two (2) year contractor apprenticeship with at least six (6) months of formal classroom training in Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Must have valid driver’s license with ability to provide driving record upon request. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
