**Position Overview**
**Power your future with Qualus** as an Engineering Technician III. Individuals interested in dynamic and challenging work environments that have experience working with Relay Protection & Control, Substation Engineering, or Transmission Line Design Engineering will be interested in the Engineering Technician role. The Engineering Technician III will create Transmission Substation and/or Protection & Control design packages for the electric utility industry. This candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to the engineering staff producing design packages and associated project work in our beautiful Salt Lake City office. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with a variety of people in a team environment. **Responsibilities**
+ Supporting project teams in all quality and project management goals.
+ Assisting and supporting scope and project proposals.
+ Meeting all project deadlines and supporting the processes and procedures to meet deadlines.
+ Mentoring and training less experienced colleagues.
+ Building and maintaining effective client relationships.
+ Maintaining up-to-date technical skills related to the design of protection and control systems for the electric utility power grid through on-the-job work and formal training.
+ Developing drawings and assist in the preparation of design packages using CAD/drafting skills.
+ Preparing additional support documentation for the construction and maintenance of protection and control systems being designed.
+ Consistently following established design standards and CAD drafting standards while assuring quality, accuracy and completeness.
+ Identifying process improvement ideas and commuting ideas through appropriate management channels.
+ Compiling bills of material.

**Qualifications**
+ AS Degree or 2 years of formal post-high school specialized trade (technical school/certifications)
+ Experience in directly related to working with electricity, preferably in the utilities
+ 5+ years electrical, civil, or structural design experience
+ Must have strong knowledge of AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
+ Microsoft Office product application
+ Excellent document management and organization skills
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Ability to multi-task and work with a variety of projects and deadlines
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to lead a small team
+ Knowledge and ability to apply fundamentals of electricity; Electricity AC and DC
+ Knowledge and ability to apply Protection and Control schemes/concepts
