Job Description:

L3Harris is looking for a lab custodian to support a high-performance engineering team by managing laboratory space and equipment.  Interface with various support organizations (security, metrology, safety, plant engineering) to ensure safe, secure, and compliant operation of laboratories.

Essential Functions:

Process/policy compliance responsibilitiesSecurity policy adherenceLab access control (e.g. grant access, coordinate all lab tours and visitors)Maintain visitor, open/close, trusted download, maintenance logsEnsure proper marking of classified/unclassified lab assets and mediaEnvironment/health/safety process/policy adherenceManage test equipment across two electrical engineering laboratories. Interface with metrology to ensure all equipment is in compliance with L3Harris calibration system. Work with engineers to identify and source optimal test equipment. Coordinate equipment repairs through equipment manufacturers and rental companies. Maintain inventory of department test equipment.Perform local computer security custodian duties.  Interface with security to ensure all lab equipment and computer resources are operating in accordance with L3Harris Security Plan.Facilitate equipment and supply purchases on overhead budget.Perform department safety monitor role: review work conditions and coordinate with EHS and plant engineering to address safety concerns.Ensure full compliance with L3Harris ESD policies.Interface with facilities department to ensure laboratories and office areas are well maintained and office supplies are readily stocked.Lab responsibilitiesVerify operation of lab equipment and PCs after IT updates.Perform security sanitization procedure for all assets leaving the lab.Maintain and update configuration/control files for simulation tools/suites.Lead test automation initiatives across programs/labs.Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted or 80 lbs. as part of a two-person team.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.Secret Security Clearance2+ years experience managing electrical test equipment and coordinating calibration.2+ years experience organizing and tracking the movement and usage of test equipment.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Proficient with IT operations.Excellent organization skills.Effective communication skills in a collaborative team environment.Familiarity with LabVIEW/MATLAB/other tools for instrument control.Experience with OSHA requirements and ESD best practices.Familiarity with high speed digital and RF test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscope, logic analyzers, etc.).
