OVERVIEW
Tatitlek staff provide support for engineering, technical, operator and logistics services at the Surface/Aviation Interoperability Laboratory (SAIL). SAIL is a part of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) located at Patuxent River, MD.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Independently apply standard and adaptive engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, develop, implement, test and evaluate systems on current or proposed military weapon systems. Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Directly perform engineering functions such as system integration, integration testing, system operation, and resource management.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalency certification and successful completion of at least six semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university in engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.OR
Successful completion of a post-high school/GED technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technologyAND
A minimum of three years’ experience in conducting laboratory research or laboratory analyses in the area of shipboard, aircraft and weapon systems; hardware, software; or instrumentation. One year of the three years must have involved test and evaluation involving military shipboard or aircraft systems or subsystems.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, adaptability, customer & mission focused, and proficiency with Microsoft Office productsAbility to construct components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment including troubleshooting and correcting malfunctions.Ability to follow specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.Ability to conduct various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data.Ability to extract and compile a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.Ability to assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; develop information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and use judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.Must currently possess a SECRET level DoD clearance with the ability to obtain and/or maintain a TOP SECRET clearance.

Must have a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTI are required.
