Job Title: TechnicianJob Description Support the project by executing chemical and petroleum lab scale experiments. Build up test equipment, compile and report test data. Work with engineers to generate mass balances and data compilations. Perform sample collection, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting. Training will be provided by a chemist or lead engineer. The candidate needs to be able to take apart equipment and rebuild it as changes will be made to the pilot plant. Must be able to read drawings, including AutoCAD. Responsibilities + Execute chemical and petroleum lab scale experiments. + Build up and maintain test equipment. + Compile and report test data. + Work with engineers to generate mass balances and data compilations. + Perform sample collection. + Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, mechanical, and electrical equipment including process demonstration units, pumps, and other auxiliary equipment. + Assist in the safe start-up, operation, and shutdown of plant equipment from outside the control room. + Visually inspect and listen to equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or the need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication. + Monitor plant air and water emissions from outside the control room. + Help with operations of plant SCADA software (training provided by lead engineer). Essential Skills + Mechanical aptitude. + Ability to read schematics and AutoCAD drawings. + Experience with MS Office. + Knowledge of tubing and pipe fittings. + Understanding of basic fluid flow, gas flow, and pressure. + Experience in equipment troubleshooting. + Sample collection skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma. + Experience with Excel for reporting. + Ability to work overtime and shift work as required. Work Environment The work environment includes both inside and outside work. The role involves working with various technologies such as SCADA software and requires mechanical aptitude. Training will be provided for specific tasks and responsibilities. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
