Engineering Technician (temporary)
Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Engineering Technician (temporary). **What you’ll do:** Provide day to day support to production cells on Manufacturing Engineering related matters to ensure availability for assembly processes & equipment to collaborate on Production’s metrics & goal achievement, meeting all times with the applicable Safety, Quality, Health & Environmental and Human Resources policies and procedures. oordinate and lead the time and raw material consumption studies aligned with the ABC Methodology B. To keep the BOMs (Materials Bill) and Rates of each SKU updated in SAP. C. Time and motion study and knowledge of production line balancing D. Implement standardization of standard work and manufacturing best practices E. Support and control of Engineering documentation, Flow Diagrams, FMEA, Work instruction and Parameters Sheet according to the development and implementation plans of each area. F. Drives Continuous Improvements opportunities to process & assembly equipment, tooling, and fixtures. G. Develop and implement error proofing systems to the equipment assigned. Poka-Yokes H. Evaluate and issue temporary deviations for manufacturing processes if needed. I. Support and/or participate on Cost Out, New Equipment and Continuous Improvement Projects. J. Develop, modify, and implement work instructions for the production process according to customer specifications. K. Implementations of improvements in production lines to reduce waste (SCRAP) L. Develop and implement standardized processes. **Qualifications:** • 1 year of experience in manufacturing engineering in the same industry field. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical or Mechatronic Engineering. • Power Bi. • English • Problem Solving • Digital mindset Individual Contributor Competencies: • Possesses Effective Communication Skills • Demonstrates a Collaborative Style • Drives for Results Other Competencies • Strong ethics and professional presence required. • Sense of urgency • Proactive and organized. • Teamwork player **Skills:** Zero Incident Workplace Culture: The ability to integrate technical skill sets required to identify and eliminate hazards associated with a manufacturing process and its supporting elements. Knowledge and experience in the process value stream, specifications, equipment, cycle time and capabilities. Competencies considered include, electrical circuit design, programmable controllers, safety interlock circuitry, lock out tag out, isolation of potential energy, ergonomics and material handling methods and procedures. Experience and knowledge with Hazardous Materials and Workplace Exposure including chemical use and storage, gases, noises, dust, fumes, vapors, and ventilation considerations. Engagement in efforts to influence 100% ownership of safety, accountability, and the sharing of knowledge to a continued focus of creating a zero incident workplace. Manufacturing Process Design: The ability to review and analyze product designs so as to assure manufacturability; Knowledge and experience in the design, selection, specification, and optimization of equipment, tooling, processes, required to make a product according to the desired volume, cost, and quality level. This includes related competencies such as industry standards, drawing interpretation, plant layout development, material flow analysis, and product/process testing and troubleshooting. Support and engage internal/external research and development regarding innovative technology, engineering, and process development. Manufacturing Value Stream Success Factors and Continuous Improvement: The inherent ability to recognize and act upon challenges and situations that contribute to success in manufacturing operations. Communication, cooperation, and problem resolution from the supply base to the customer. Direct interaction with materials management with regards to production scheduling, inventory improvements, and part availability. Consistent engagement of product lines and employees to maintain a pulse on production status, challenges and successes. The ability to align and focus support resources such as quality, EHS, and maintenance to ensure an effective and proactive approach to resolve product and process issues. Collaboration with product design teams to ensure manufacturability of current and new products and manage engineering and process changes.
