Job Description

 

Summary

The Sr. Engineering Test Pilot increases productivity, efficiency, reliability, and communication. Takes details and deadlines from program management, and ensures the flight test process is followed, and fully executed up to, and including, the flight test. One coordinates fleet maintenance and oversees flight support and scheduling. Additionally, one supports Project Management for developmental product flight testing and training.  Plans and manages all business area conducted flight operations to include; engineering tests, internal training, and customer demonstrations.

Position Responsibilities

Writes, reviews, and maintains flight operation processes. Gains access and flight approvals on military instalmentsCoordinates and schedules range time on military installments. Serves as Government range liaisonFormulates flight plans for developmental product testing, conduct flight testing to evaluate operational characteristics, suitability, maintainability, and reliability as requiredEnsures compliance with FAA requirementsCollaborates with Chief Engineer, Program Managers, and other staff in an environment of rapid change to achieve team objectivesHelps oversee safety and training efforts for pilots and flight crew. Resolve problems and conflicts affecting business operations and staff performanceManages the tracking of all developmental flight testing for required activities, travel, equipment, resources, and manage the flight test team assignmentsManages the entire process of Pre & Post Flight test documentation including; flight logs, test cards, video downloads, and analysisEnsure proper process is adhered to for flight qualification checks (QC) on development air vehiclesConsistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Often acts as a facilitator and team leaderOther duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

High school diploma or GED equivalent requiredMinimum of 6+ years' experience coordinating flight operations or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceExperienced in and knowledgeable of FAA regulationsExperienced in and knowledgeable of US customs entry/exit procedures as well as international handlingLeadership experience with a focus on internal talent developmentExperienced planning and conducting flight demonstrations of UASExperienced working with RC scale model tools and materialsExhibits exceptional oral and written communication skills and competency in professional presentations of UAS capabilities to customersAbility to pass drug screen; Ability to pass criminal history records check and airport badging requirementsMust possess a valid driver's license and passportAbility to travel internationally (Occasionally)

The salary range for this role is:

$34 - $49
