Engineering Test Technician
Job Title: Engineering Test TechnicianJob Description Our customer, located in Ann Arbor, MI is currently looking for a Technician in their Vehicle Emission and Efficiency Lab (VEL) at their facility who will: Perform vehicle emission testing on a chassis dyno to comply with SAE/EPA/CARB specification/regulations, and industry best practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include: - Perform chassis dyno emission tests (driving) - Prepares, installs and sets up test vehicle, analyzers, dyno, data acquisition and other equipment - Perform SHED testing (HSL, DBL, and ORVR) - Perform testing and records results, communicates results to an Engineer, or to a Supervisor / Manager, as required - Prepare vehicles for testing (fuel drain and fill, canister loading/conditioning, instrumentation, etc.) - Support/perform daily equipment calibration and maintenance - Complete test documentation paperwork - Propose improvements to processes and equipment upgrades - Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures - Perform light mechanical work - Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of chassis test cells and work area - Perform additional projects as assigned Hard Skills + Chassis dynamometer + Engineering Technician Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s). Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Work Environment Laboratory Environment - exposure to fuel, compressed air/gas, emissions and exhaust fumes. Pinching, tripping, electrical, and chemical hazards; bending and stooping required. May be exposed to hazardous conditions; must have clear understanding of safety; may have to lift up to 50 lbs. Safety glasses required. Shop Environment - exposure to fuel, compressed air/gas, emissions and exhaust fumes: pinching, tripping, electrical, and chemical hazards; bending and stooping required; must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and work safely with hand power tools.
