As an Enterprise Architect Principal within PNC’s Enterprise Architecture organization, the preferred candidate will reside and work in one of our Technology hub locations: Birmingham, AL; Phoenix, AZ; Cleveland, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; or Dallas, TX. Responsibilities require time in the office with the opportunity for remote work at the manager’s discretion.
This position will be accountable for working across the bank to develop data architecture reference architectures and roadmaps focused on platforms including cloud and AI. The position drives technology portfolio optimization using industry best practices such as lean, SAFe, TOGAF, and Systems Engineering.
The Enterprise Architect Principal will partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, and our EA teams to drive data technology investments that optimize and transform our current data technology portfolio to meet our current and future business and operational capability needs.
The role also will assess and drive data exchange technologies that will allow us to modularize and autonomize application software that will ensure we improve operational efficiencies and simplify the complexity of data exchanges while maintaining data lineage using architecture patterns.
Key deliverables in partnership with the other stakeholders are:
• Build strategies that guide business and CIO aligned meeting their needs for data technologies
• Create usable architecture artifacts that measure and demonstrate progress against a strategy
• Develop common architecture patterns that bring siloed organizations together
• Contribute to an architecture organization and cross LOB partnerships and processes
• Guide at multiple organizational levels the priorities and metrics that ensure objectives are met
• Measures progress against objectives with follow-up when results are or are not achieved
• Provide thought leadership in technology selection analysis to achieve an organization’s objectives
• Serve as a "trusted advisor" interfacing with executive stakeholders
• Articulates the business impact of technology decisions and facilitate decision making
• Engages with business and CIO team’s planning and design initiatives to identify opportunities
• Create the architecture analysis with supporting artifacts to drive technology recommendations
Some specific accountabilities:
• Review any proposed new technologies, including SaaS and PaaS technology for portfolio fit
• Assess and manage the changes to the enterprise technology capability model
• Participate in the EA, Data, and Security Communities of Practice and Working Groups
• Drive technology roadmapping sessions as well as reference data architectures used in patterns
• Present at Executive and Director level meetings to drive data technology strategies and roadmaps
Some key desired skills:
• Enterprise systems thinking & broad understanding of managing to a capability model
• Strategic thinking and planning with a proactive approach to anticipate their needs and objectives
• Experience on large strategic transformation programs
• Experience working in financial services organizations with AI and Cloud technologies
• Personal skills: Communication, Relationship Building, Collaboration, Influencing
• Certifications in SAFe, TOGAF, ITIL, and Systems Engineering are desirable but not required

**Job Description**
+ Plans and leads major enterprise strategies for significant and complex enterprise technology solutions by applying subject matter expertise in enterprise architecture, incorporating experience from across all the architecture domains of business, technology, data, application and security.
+ Maintains relationships with stakeholders, addresses requirements and provides consultation to shape the success of enterprise technology strategy. Leads and drives consensus across enterprise stakeholders for understanding strategic requirements, their associated tradeoffs, and enterprise impacts of recommended target state.
+ Consults, leads and facilitates the creation of major, complex technology solutions in support of business strategies.
+ Creates the strategic roadmaps for implementing recommended target architectures and facilitates and drives the interim architecture states and roadmaps and recommendations for the technology.
+ Supports the growth and provides guidance to architects, engineers and other technology professionals on the architecture practice and strategic analysis and solution design.

**Work Experience**
