The Information Technology (IT) organization at Grant Thornton plays a crucial role in supporting and enhancing the firm's operations. By providing robust and reliable IT services, the team ensures that all professionals have the tools and resources they need to address business challenges effectively. This includes teams and roles such as IT Governance, Enterprise Architecture, Program/Project Management Office, Platform Management, and Infrastructure & Operations. Position Summary:

Information Technology Interns will participate in an 8-week program in one of three roles of Information Technology, within Enterprise Architecture (EA). 

 

Enterprise Architecture 

The Enterprise Architecture (EA) team is responsible for designing and applying technology strategies, standards, and solutions that align with the needs of the Enterprise. The goal is to ensure that Grant Thornton can evolve and respond to change effectively. 

The team consists of experienced technologists and architects who operate as an Internal Management Consultancy (IMC). The function is structured into domain-based Programs that combine carefully designed services and deliver them with a high-quality consulting methodology to address stakeholders’ business priorities.

This position will focus on one of three major areas in the Enterprise Architecture group, being Business Architecture, Fullstax Support, or Community Engagement.

Fullstax Support: Assist in documenting processes and compiling resources for business owners. This includes creating detailed documentation, user guides, and reference materials to ensure that business owners have the necessary information and tools to effectively utilize the systems and processes in place. Community Engagement: Engage with Microsoft products and the community, focusing on Power Platform, M365, and Copilot. This role involves organizing and participating in community events, webinars, and training sessions to promote the use of these products. Additionally, it includes providing support and guidance to users, helping them leverage the full potential of these tools. Business Architecture: Organize and refine user stories to ensure clarity and alignment with business objectives. This involves working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, translating them into detailed user stories, and continuously refining and prioritizing these stories to ensure they meet the needs of the business and align with overall strategic goals.

 

Additional responsibilities may include:

Collaborate with professionals from the US and India within the Global Technology team for a diverse international experience, with potential opportunities to work with colleagues in Ireland. Participate in and deliver presentation(s) during the Quarterly All Hands IT Town Hall. Interact with internal resources to contribute to essential Information Technology projects aligned with core service areas.

 

Information Technology Qualifications:

Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Technology, Information Systems, Enterprise Architecture, Computer Science, or a related field. Demonstrates Grant Thornton’s CLEARR values: Collaboration, Leadership, Excellence, Agility, Respect, and Responsibility. Strong academic performance with an interest in technology and a creative mindset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment and the capacity to learn from and contribute to the knowledge of peers. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic. Ability to work in both remote and in-person work environments, in both of the Chicagoland offices (Downers Grove and downtown Chicago.)

The pay rate for this position in the firm's Chicago, IL office is $33.50 per hour.
