The Opportunity

 At Roche, our Finance Centers of Excellence have led the way in breaking down silos, removing hierarchies, and working in new ways. We’ve learned from our successes and from the things that haven’t gone so well. We’re better equipped to look at interfaces and synergies, and to understand the risks of creating new silos. The eCoE is focusing on three areas delivering a high-level of financial expertise, innovative insights, and an entrepreneurial mindset that enables agility and flexibility for stakeholders.

The eCoE is a talent engine for Finance through capability and network building. There are three focus areas within eCoE:

As a member of the eCoE you will bring leadership and a strong technical expertise together with the ability to work in a self-aligning team with minimal hierarchy. You will be a catalyst for the Finance transformation and work effectively as an influencer, and leaning in as coach and catalyst to the Finance network as needed. You have a passion to pilot new approaches and constructively challenge the status quo. You can tolerate ambiguity.

In this role, you will join the FIRE (Finance Insights & Reporting for the Enterprise) OBC (outcome-based community) within eCoE with focus on the Group financials.

Your role will include, amongst other:

Preparing and delivering comprehensive management reports for the Corporate Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and other key senior decision-makers within Roche.

Analyzing and evaluating the performance of the Roche Group to provide insightful financial perspectives

Collaborating with the Accounting, Investor Relations and Communications teams on Roche's external releases, ensuring accuracy and clarity in financial communications to the company’s shareholders

Playing a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing tools and reports essential for financial insights and decision-making

Participating in various projects and initiatives as they arise, providing ad-hoc analyses and strategic recommendations to support ongoing business objectives

Who you are

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, results-driven environment. You should possess excellent communication skills to effectively present financial data and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders outside of Finance.

You are an independent, entrepreneurial and engaged finance professional who can lead and influence in a collaborative and inspiring way. You have a passion for creating a great working environment, helping others grow and achieving impact and results that serve our customers, stakeholders and Roche's mission.

In addition, you bring:

3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a multi-national corporate environment

A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or a similar degree is required, and an MA/MSc or other relevant professional qualification would be a plus

Analytical & Data Skills: Ability to extract, analyze, review, and present data with a high level of accuracy, providing well-founded recommendations

Time Management & Prioritization: Strong capacity to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and deliver results under pressure

Collaboration & Communication: Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, partner with stakeholders at all levels, and communicate insights clearly and effectively to senior leadership

Continuous Learning: Motivation to embrace ongoing learning opportunities, particularly in Finance and Digital transformation

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VBA knowledge is a plus), PowerPoint, and Google Workplace tools

 

The role is located in Basel.
