Enterprise Data & AI Strategy Director

As part of the Enterprise Data & AI Strategy team, Data Strategists are responsible for making PepsiCo’s strategic vision real by conceiving, initiating, and shepherding high-priority data, analytics, and AI enabling capabilities. This is an intensely collaborative position, requiring close interaction with business leaders, data practitioners, strategic leaders in Strategy & Transformation, external partners, external vendors, and more. The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of data, analytics, and AI, know how to simplify multi-faceted concepts into succinct messaging that sets and drives strategic direction, and have a proven ability to work with others on complex projects Responsibilities Accountable for developing and executing the Enterprise Data & AI Capability Strategy in line with PepsiCo’s transformation vision; role will include rationalizing existing strategies into unified strategic direction Bring thought leadership and strategic thinking to support Senior Data Leaders to understand business data needs and develop strategic roadmaps Work closely with Senior Leaders to build and embed the Enterprise Data & AI Capability Strategy into how PepsiCo operates ensuring key principles of Data Governance, Data Management, Data Architecture, Advanced Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence (including GenAI) are implemented Responsible for creation of board level content to explain components of the Enterprise Data & AI Capability Strategy and follow-on strategic details Responsible for adhoc strategic projects (e.g., Service Catalog, Sustainability in Data, etc.) and bespoke data & AI strategies for specific transformation areas (e.g., Consumer Data Strategy) with research and overall strategic guidance in line Partner with PepsiCo technical organizations to align Enterprise Data & AI Capability Strategy with technology strategy Communicate the Enterprise Data & AI Capability Strategy to/with stakeholders, internal and external, track progress towards key milestones and communicate updates in standing Forums Support design and administer data & AI maturity assessments (across Enterprise functions) and develop maturity uplift roadmap aligned to findings Partner with the D&AI Strategic Measurement Team to design and execute measurement and monitoring frameworks, set KPIs and evaluate progress of Enterprise Data & AI Capability Strategy implementation Contribute to the knowledge management capability around enterprise data and AI, ensuring appropriate documentation and key frameworks/approaches are shared Provide direction and guidance to direct reports and lead by example to drive an inclusive and knowledge sharing culture Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $150,000 - $300,000. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period. Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance. Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. Qualifications Minimum 10 years working in data, AI and technology related roles with leadership or strategic responsibilities Consulting experience building data, analytics and AI strategies for clients strongly preferred Experience working in large, multinational, enterprises Experience with large enterprise transformations Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred Experience in CPG industry preferred Experience with large scale data, analytics and AI tools and services preferred Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Requires a blend of technical, business, and strategic skills Must be familiar with data, analytics, and AI capabilities (data governance, data engineering, data platforms, advanced analytics, business intelligence (BI), machine learning (ML), generative AI, AI governance, etc.) Must have knowledge of the latest trends in data & AI Must have business acumen and understand business operations, process, strategic goals Must have expertise in strategic frameworks and ability to think critically and develop long-term data and AI capability strategies aligned with business goals Must have strong executive presentation skills (creating, presenting, simplifying complex concepts) with a high degree of comfort in varying audience sizes and technical acumen Must have strong project management skills – a proven track record of overseeing a portfolio of multiple projects Must possess a positive and flexible attitude, be genuine and act with humility, honesty and integrity Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams (data/ AI gov, data architecture, data engineering and platforms, BI & Reporting, data product management, Data science, AI solutions, Technical strategy, and more) Differentiating Competencies Required: Must have strong attention to detail and be extremely well-organized Ability to work on multiple projects with competing priorities Ability to build strong relationships cross-functionally Anticipates problems and offers solutions Proficiency in Enterprise level data, analytics, and AI Strong team management skills to drive employee growth and maintain interest EEO Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
