Experience: 10 years of experience in Information Technology or related. Requires skills and experience to involve: Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Architecture. Proven expertise in analysis of data requirements and development of appropriate logical and physical data models for both relational and dimensional data structures within the Enterprise Data Warehouse and other systems. Proficiency in defining and documenting the source to target mappings for data integration. Extensive experience gathering business and data requirements. Demonstrated experience optimizing physical database design for performance and tune performance of existing data structures and SQL. Deep understanding of data modeling. Demonstrated knowledge of the complete data flow and ability to provide solutions and tools outside of existing structures. Experience with designing and communicating complex integration and data warehousing requirements. Broad experience developing solutions for multiple disciplines/departments (Manufacturing, Marketing, HR, Sales, Supply Chain, etc.). Strong SQL coding skills for data analysis and testing.

 

Job duties: The Enterprise Data Architect position will be responsible for data analysis, logical & physical data modeling, database design, and metadata usage in the company’s global Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Develop blueprints for all data repositories, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems. Translate business needs into long-term data architecture solutions and provide Business as Usual (BAU) support for existing environments by developing new programs and enhancements to support existing business requirements. Define, design and build dimensional database schemas. Evaluate reusability of current data for separate analyses. Conduct data sheering to rid the system of old, unused or duplicate data. Review object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access. Understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and require minimal direction and receive guidance where needed. Follow established guidelines/procedures.
