The Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) team is looking to hire an Enterprise Data Modeler. This role will involve collaborating with various teams within the organization to gather relevant information and ensure enterprise data models are designed/maintained to accurately represent the organization data.
Expectations:
Develop/Maintain Enterprise conceptual and Enterprise logical data models that reflect the organization's data requirements and business processes.Conduct business requirements sessions with Data Domain Leads, Data Owners and Data SMEs to gather and analyze requirements for new data models or modifications to existing ones.Determine how the various entities are related and develop entity relationship diagrams that represent the connections among the entities.Identify each entity's characteristics and properties and ensure that the entities can be differentiated within the model.Maintain appropriate Version Control on data models.Develop a logical data model and validate the model to ensure that it serves the needs of the business application and its consumers.Apply normalization techniques to ensure data integrity and minimize redundancy, while also considering denormalization where necessary to improve query performance.Create and maintain documentation for data models, including entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), data dictionaries, and metadata definitions.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to align data models with business requirements and technical constraints.Engage the business users to assess their information needs.Review the business process and conceptualize the entities that interoperate within the business process.Stay updated on emerging trends, best practices, and technologies in data modelling and database design, and proactively recommend improvements to existing processes and methodologies.Experience:
Proven experience in data modelling, database design, and development.Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).Familiarity with data modelling tools such as Erwin or ER/Studio.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into data models.Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.Be able to work independently and collaboratively in a matrix environment.Be able to use existing models, map to data dictionary components and extend where required.Working experience with Data Mesh is a plus.At least 8 years in software delivery and architecture.Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.Working with Us:
