Enterprise Data Science Expert
Position Description:

Are you looking for an opportunity to use your deep understanding of data and analytics to help build and evolve enterprise-wide advanced business intelligence platforms? If so, CGI has a rewarding opportunity for a Enterprise Data Science Expert to help us design, implement, and evolve our global data and analytics landscape in close collaboration with colleagues around the world.

This is a role in our global Enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) team which will use a scaled agile approach to collaborate with stakeholders to build a data and BI business vision based on our current strong foundation. You will report to the Enterprise BI Director, responsible for supporting the development and management of our enterprise portfolio vision, roadmap, customer experience design, and governance. This is a consulting and hands-on role, so you will play an important role in gathering, organizing, analyzing and synthesizing a wide range of internal and external data in order to equip our internal leaders with modern, user-centric business intelligence services. You will work very closely with our CIO solution owners and architects, user experience experts, and our leading offshore delivery developers to continuously design, build, test, and launch new tools and support to our leaders.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

While CGI employs many data scientists and analytics experts around the world, this Enterprise Data Science Expert role is focusing internally within our metrics-driven company. You join a small and highly collaborative Enterprise Business Intelligence team responsible for working across the corporate services teams to evolve our data strategy and global BI agenda. Together, we will continue to evolve our BI processes, platforms, and global network of experts to help our leaders realize business value from data. Enterprise BI is part of CIO whose goals are to support the effective use of CGI enterprise data through reporting tools such as CGI Intellx+ and MFE, as well as the development of advanced analytics, to deliver actionable information to our leaders.

You will support the Enterprise BI Director by identifying meaningful insights from your analysis and experiments; requiring data modeling, analysis & synthesis, and visualization, much of which is related to our plans and performance in support of our three stakeholders: clients, employees, and shareholders.

This highly visible role requires understanding of finance, business planning, performance reporting, and trends in BI and the IT services industry in order to:
Help envision and translate our business objectives, including guiding the development of business requirements

• Assists with the interactions with CGI leaders to determine business scenario/s to assess and issues for data analysis and experiments
• Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and storytelling from analysis and experiments to CGI Leaders
• Extracts knowledge and insights from high-volume, high-dimensional data in order to investigate complex business problems through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis and/or visualization techniques, which may include the use of advanced statistical analysis, algorithms, predictive modeling, experimentation and pattern recognition to create solutions that enable enhanced business performance
• Uses existing data platforms and tools but may also use object-oriented programming to develop own scripts and visualizations
• Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights
• Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Essential Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role for data analytics, data science and/or business intelligence
• Experience performing complex data exploitation on large volumes of data to provide tactical and strategic insights directly to analysts, business owners, and decision makers
• Experience gathering requirements and identifying opportunities to apply data science towards business objectives
• Experience prototyping and developing data exploitation capabilities
• Experience visualizing analytics, writing reports, producing functional notebooks, and designing and delivering presentations
• A top collaborator with superb communication skills – verbally and in writing, including in English as this is a global role
• Ability to break down complex ideas or data into understandable explanations and content
• Experience or knowledge of Tableau, OAS, or other data software
• Expert skills in PowerPoint and Excel to create frameworks, templates, dashboard mock-ups


Desired Qualifications:

• Understanding and use of Agile and/or Scaled Agile
• Development of technology roadmaps for business processes
• Understanding of IT services and the industry trends influencing clients, including how organizations are leveraging technology to transform their business and operating models

Education and Certification:

• Bachelor s degree in data science, business intelligence, statistics, mathematics, computer science or other related fields. MBA is a plus
