Description of Duties\:

The Enterprise Engineering Solutions Manager and IRES Chief Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will\:

 

·         Perform duties as the contract's Chief Engineer by providing leadership and oversight of an integrated enterprise engineering solutions team that consists of Systems Engineers, Enterprise Architects, and Configuration Management personnel tasked with developing engineering governance, management, configuration control, and surveillance of an integrated missile defense weapon system test platform's technical baseline.

·         Instill a culture of quality and ownership across Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and Configuration Management personnel.

·         Serve as an integrator across the department and contract, leveraging relationships and familiarity within the Missile Defense Agency.

·         Lead strategic planning efforts to refine enterprise architecture initiatives.

·         Develop junior, mid-level, and senior engineering personnel to leverage Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) delivery practice, to include capturing and decomposing work around SAFe (Epics, Features, Stories, and Sub-Tasks).

·         Lead the Agile effort across the Enterprise Engineering Solutions team.

·         Perform supervisory activities to include performance evaluations, goal/priority setting, and performance actions as needed.

·         Lead, mentor, teach, and train members of the team to communicate, engage, and coordinate activities across diverse stakeholders.

·         Coordinate with engineering leaders to support the application of Process Engineering and Continuous Improvement of non-manufacturing engineering processes.

·         Lead the integration of Systems Engineering Principles and Requirements into Project Management and delivery processes across the enterprise.

·         Support the establishment and sustainment of enterprise-wide Systems Engineering and Configuration Management support teams.

·         Perform Control Account (CA) activities as a CA Manager (CAM) to include authorizing charge codes, tracking labor use against CA, and contributing to CA forecasting with the Earned Value (EV) team.

·         Oversee the management and improvement of an enterprise-wide Engineering Review Board process.

·         Communicate complex technical information to people of various backgrounds and disciplines.

·         Provide status and briefings to leadership, to include senior government customers and stakeholders.

·         Establish an enterprise engineering solutions internship program.

·         Use interpersonal skills to solve both technical and organizational conflicts.

Basic Requirements\:

Must have a Master’s degree and 12 years of general experience.

 

·         Must have 10 years of directly related experience

·         Must have 3 years of experience working in a management or leadership role (teams larger than 20 personnel)

·         Must have at least 3 years of experience in orchestrating and executing planning events with key stakeholders, to include Government senior leadership

·         Must have prior experience leading teams to support Department of Defense National Security Programs

·         Must have a Master’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited university

·         Must demonstrate an understanding of agile team management concepts, practices, and methods and have training/education in agile delivery concepts

·         Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

 

Desired Requirements\:

 

·         Have experience using Jira to manage tasks

·         Experience using agile task management methods and practices

·         Experience mentoring junior employees to identify value and continuous improvement performance

·         Experience in full systems life cycle, strategic planning, and project management methodologies

·         MDA experience, particularly on the IRES contract

 

This position is expected to pay $172,000 - $197,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
