CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace. The Enterprise Monitoring Team Lead will oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's network, systems, security and application monitoring. The Enterprise Monitoring Team Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of our network, security systems, and applications. This role involves leading a team of network and security operators and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless monitoring services. Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of network monitoring operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluation to ensure a high level of technical expertise and operational efficiency. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Infrastructure, security, and applications, to align monitoring strategies with business objectives and support the implementation of new tools and applications. Monitor the customer’s IT systems, network, servers, and applications 24/7 to proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact performance or availability. Respond promptly to alerts and notifications from monitoring tools, diagnosing problems, and implementing appropriate solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to investigate and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Document and track incidents, including the troubleshooting steps taken and the resolution achieved, in a clear and organized manner. Escalate critical incidents to higher-level support teams or management as necessary, providing detailed information and recommendations. Participate in the development and maintenance of monitoring and alerting procedures, adjusting thresholds and settings to improve accuracy and responsiveness. Contribute to the creation and improvement of IT documentation, including standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles. Identify trends and patterns in system alerts and incidents, providing insights to prevent recurring issues. Perform routine checks and maintenance tasks to optimize system performance and prevent potential problems. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and security threats to enhance monitoring strategies and incident response capabilities. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline; and Additional years of experience can be used in lieu of a degree 5+ years of relevant experience CompTIA Security+ required Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain CI Poly. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals. Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others. Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications. Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, experience working in a home office setting and the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues. Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired. Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it.
