Enterprise System Analyst (Hybrid)

The Enterprise System Analyst at Vanderbilt University is proactive in shaping and evolving Vanderbilt University Information Technology (VUIT)’s enterprise architecture. This role involves detailed analysis and design of business processes, value streams, data, and supporting technologies. The Enterprise System Analyst collaborates with various departments to identify architectural needs, develop comprehensive models, and propose improvements. They play a key role in ensuring that architecture evolves in alignment with strategic goals and technological advancements.

Duties and Resonsibilities:

Analysis and Design Support

Conduct detailed analysis of business processes, value streams, data, and supporting technologies. Support design of comprehensive architectural models that integrate these elements effectively.

Collaboration and Requirement Identification

Collaborate with various departments to identify and understand their architectural needs. Facilitate discussions to gather requirements and propose architectural solutions. Work closely with stakeholders to align architectural designs with business objectives and strategies.

Development and Improvement

Develop comprehensive models that reflect the current and future state of VUIT’s enterprise architecture. Propose improvements and innovations to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the architecture.

Strategic Alignment and Evolution

Ensure that the enterprise architecture evolves in alignment with Vanderbilt University’s strategic goals. Monitor technological advancements and incorporate relevant innovations into architecture. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on the evolution of the enterprise architecture.

 

Supervisory Relationships:

This is an individual contributor position that reports administratively and functionally to the Enterprise Architecture Manager. 

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is necessary. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field is preferred.  Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Professional in Business Analysis (PBA), or relevant technical writing certifications are preferred.  3 years of relevant experience is necessary.  Strong understanding of organizational structures, business processes, value streams, data, and supporting technologies is necessary. Familiarity with application development practices (version control/git, code formatting, containerization, release and deployment, etc.) is necessary. Experience with architectural frameworks and methodologies is strongly preferred.  Excellent collaboration and communication skills are necessary. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are necessary. Demonstrated commitment to VUIT’s guiding principles is necessary.
