Enterprise Systems Engineer, Development (ABAP/4)

As an Enterprise Systems Engineer, Development (ABAP/4), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing SAP applications in SAP S/4HANA. You will work closely with business and functional teams to translate requirements into scalable and high-performance technical solutions. This role requires expertise in ABAP, ABAP OO, Core Data Services (CDS), RAP, BOPF, SAP UI5, OData, and IDocs.

This position will sit onsite in Grapevine, TX 5 days per week

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms) in SAP S/4HANA.Design, develop, and optimize ABAP/ABAP OO programs, Core Data Services (CDS), RAP, BOPF, and SAP UI5 applications.Analyze and debug standard SAP objects and CDS views to identify and resolve issues efficiently.Enhance standard SAP applications using the SAP Enhancement Framework to improve functionality and address user needs.Design detailed technical specifications based on functional requirements and best coding practices.Perform unit and integration testing to ensure quality and reliability of developments.Work closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and end-users to gather and refine technical requirements.Assist with SPDD & SPAU activities during system upgrades, installations, and maintenance.Develop and maintain OData services, IDocs, and APIs to facilitate integrations between SAP and other enterprise systems.Provide support for performance tuning and troubleshooting of custom ABAP programs.Stay updated on the latest SAP development technologies and best practices to continuously enhance system performance and efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP/4, ABAP OO, CDS, RAP, BOPF, OData, and IDocs.Strong understanding of RICEF development in SAP S/4HANA.Experience in analyzing and debugging standard SAP objects and CDS views.Proficiency in enhancing SAP applications using the Enhancement Framework.Ability to design technical specifications based on functional requirements.Hands-on experience with unit and integration testing of ABAP developments.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team.Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

Functional knowledge of Finance, Procurement, and Supply Chain modules.Experience with SAP Customer Activity Repository (CAR).Familiarity with SAP Fiori/UI5 development and RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP).Experience working with SAP upgrades, installations, and maintenance activities (SPDD/SPAU).Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments.
