THE JOB:
The Manager of Finance & Accounting is responsible for performing assigned accounting and reporting activities for the joint venture operations of The Chelsea, while adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and MGM Resorts International's corporate accounting policies. The Manager supports the Director of Finance & Administration and provides financial support to the arena and other related or interfacing entertainment departments, and/or the joint venture partner as required. Responsibilities include event settlement and ensuring all applicable balance sheet accounts continuously reflect accurate financial position. The Manager is responsible for the supervision of a team of accountants and coordinator to complete assigned accounting processes, including joint venture accounting. The Manager ensures that the team is effectively trained in assigned processes and that work product is appropriately reviewed.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Maintain accurate billing records for premium seating, sponsorships, and other annual joint venture-related chargesOversee the settlement of arena events, including the calculation of wires and liaising with external show and promoter accountantsGenerate financial proformas and conduct pre-event and post-event financial analysisDevelop, maintain, and audit profit and loss statements for entertainment, overseeing accounts payable and receivable processesProvide financial reports and interfaces with box office/ticketing and internal audit departmentsManage the creation and analysis of the annual budget, including operations and marketing strategies to drive profitability for the arenaPrepare schedules for internal, external, and regulatory audits and reviews as requestedMaintain schedules for joint venture partners and ensure their timely deliveryDistribute daily operational reports and necessary financial informationOversee and make recommendations for the financial planning of various operational functions including concessions, retail, catering, conventions, security, EVS, tower club, and third-party operatorsAnalyze financial data from various departments, ensuring accuracy and making recommendations for improvements or correctionsParticipate in system implementations and process improvements to enhance efficiencyProduce ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as requested.Assist in the contract review process and tracking of Risk Management/Insurance requirements.Ensure guest service delivery aligns with company standards.Manage operational functions in alignment with the strategic vision for the arena.Perform other duties as assignedTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Must be at least 21 years of ageBachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceFive (5) years of prior relevant experience in Finance, Accounting or related fieldExperience with joint venture accountingKnowledge and experience with financial systems (Infinium, AS400, Showcase Strategy, Cognos Finance, Cognos Bi, ACL, Report ManagerAdvanced experience with use of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) and financial mainframe applications including ability to import and export data to and from mainframe applicationsMust have advanced knowledge of excel including conditional formatting, advanced calculations/functionsKnowledge of Infinium and finance software preferredAbility to prepare and fully analyze financial statements and related reports, and make recommendations and decisions based on financial dataFamiliar with monthly and quarterly financial reports including profit & loss reviewAnalyzes and understands information to develop logical solutions to issuesExperience in working with all levels of management, including executives and consulting with key business stakeholdersHighly developed organizational skills to function effectively while still maintaining attention to detail and meeting established deadlinesAble to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal formsTHE PERKS & BENEFITS:
