Entitlements Eligibility Coordinator - EES004 - Mon-Fri 9AM-5PM

Position Summary: Oversee and assist in the coordination of operational and managerial processes of the EES Department .Develop control systems to track the stages of benefits applications and appeals process that will provide concrete statistical data. The EES Coordinator should then be able to interpret the data and to pin point the areas of services that the EES Department will need, in order to make improvements and/or make changes. Interview prospective applicants and train newly hired employees to be competent in performing their duties as an EES staff person. The EES Coordinator must be resourceful in implementing systems and procedures to enhance performance and increase productivity. The EES Coordinator must be the liaison between the staff and both the internal and external administrations.

Essential Accountabilities:

Maintain and encourage confidentially in respect to HIPPA Laws at all times Supervise and train all new staff employed by the department. Monitor staff member’s work practice to ensure that Entitlements and Eligibility services are delivered timely and effectively. Conduct effective supervisions that will guide and support the staff as needed. Review and evaluate screenings completed by staff to determine consumer’s eligibility for both private and governmental benefits. Assist the staff in completing all applications necessary to apply, appeal, and maintain governmental and/or private benefits. Be prepared to travel to any and all governmental/private agencies (i.e. ALJ Hearings, face-to-face interviews and Social Security visits etc…). Prepare monthly reports and statistical analysis. Basic mathematical skills are required to maintain accurate consumer balances. Notify department members of any and all emergencies that may arise. Assist in the event of EES Department staff shortage, such as vacations, holidays, leaves of absences and vacancies, etc…. Maintain an accurate system for all consumer documents. Provide in-service training to MH/DD staff/consumers as needed. This does not limit the assignment of duties or exclude the performance of other duties not mentioned, as assigned by the supervisor.
