David Weekley Homes is looking for hard working, highly motivated candidates to join our Atlanta team as a Residential Construction Superintendent/Builder.
Construction Superintendents are responsible for the planning, scheduling, implementation and coordination of quality-built homes from development through final construction on a timely and economical basis. The successful candidate will be able to deliver a quality home as well as a quality home buying experience. All Superintendents go through a period of training before taking on the responsibility of building homes.
Responsibilities include:
Mentoring with tenured Construction Managers to learn how to effectively oversee the construction process of homes.Learning how to build a home the Weekley Way and communicate with internal and external customersUnderstanding each phase of the homebuilding process and sales process as well as OSHA & safety issuesConstruct quality homes per Building the Weekley Way standards within a prescribed time schedule while minimizing costs.Schedule, oversee and inspect the quality of the work performed by subcontractors and hold them accountable to David Weekley Homes quality standards.Complete punch sheets, check frame packages, and run final inspection list on homesWork with Sales Consultant toward providing homebuyer with the home they want and exceeding expectationsMaintain rapport with the buyers in regard to buyer concerns and optionsMaintain a professional, clean and organized job siteNegotiating prices & working with management to establish labor budgetsManaging materials and completing subcontractor payrollQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management/Science, Business, Hospitality Management or related fieldPrior exposure to home building/construction or a related field is helpful, but not requiredKnowledge of Construction practices and terminology and the ability understand blueprints and construction documents is preferredA Team oriented attitude with a desire to positively impact your team and customersShould be able to build rapport and maintain Customer Satisfaction during the buying/building processManage time effectively in order to meet established goals and deadlinesComputer proficiency required to handle job costing, payroll and communication with vendors and tradesPossess the ability to supervise effectively at all levels and motivate building partners to perform at a high level of competency.Strong sense of urgency and persistence in follow-upCan analyze and resolve problems in a fast-paced environmentAdaptability and decisivenessWillingness to receive feedback
