Job Title: Design EngineerJob Description We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform design engineering related to improvement projects, utilizing 3-D CAD modeling, FEA tools, and engineering specifications to optimize solutions. You will also manage engineering changes, support other departments, and review customer and specification drawings to ensure component feasibility. Responsibilities + Perform design engineering for improvement projects. + Effectively use 3-D CAD to model designs and utilize FEA tools for optimization. + Create, check, and maintain thorough engineering specifications and drawings. + Manage engineering changes according to established procedures. + Serve as a technical resource to support departments such as operations, quality, purchasing, and service. + Review customer drawings and specifications to determine requirements and feasibility. + Develop design concepts to meet cost objectives, involving supply chain operations for component selection. + Develop and guide necessary computations like load development, stress analysis, performance measurement, hydraulic circuit analysis, and costing. + Achieve due dates and pre-defined requirements set by management. + Collaborate with production personnel to solve manufacturing and design issues and implement cost reduction ideas. + Use root cause analysis and problem-solving skills to improve products and implement corrective actions. Essential Skills + Proficiency in Design Engineering. + Experience with AutoCAD, Structural Design, and SolidWorks. + Knowledge of the product development process and FEA analysis. + Proficiency in Creo, Mechanical Design, ERP systems, and Oracle. + Understanding of construction engineering and construction equipment. + Ability to work independently and with a team. + Strong technical and written documentation skills. + Degree in Engineering, preferably Design. + Previous experience with Inventor. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with SolidWorks and Inventor. + Experience with ERP Systems (Oracle). + Ability to adjust priorities when sudden changes arise. + Enjoys team-oriented work. + Experience in structural engineering. + Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments. + Comfortable sharing opinions and open to discussions. Work Environment This role is based in a heavy manufacturing environment that includes plate and steel work, bending, fabrication, wiring, welding, and assembly lines. The position requires 40 hours per week, with the possibility of 45 hours during busy project times.
