Entry Level EHS Analyst

SUMMARY:

Responsible for coordinating and reviewing environmental, health and safety (EHS) and hazardous waste programs and results, which involve knowledge on intermediate to complex EHS policies, programs and practices while completing various forms, documents and databases.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provides a variety of EHS support with knowledge covering multiple areas of operations, including testing, inspections, reporting, administration and related areas; involves more intermediate to complex EHS areas. Provides intermediate to complex support in the application and assistance to staff and management regarding EHS policies, programs and practices. Conducts inspections of waste containers and areas where waste is stored; coordinates collection of waste containers. Provides support for radioactive materials for the lab by coordinating low-level radioactive shipments, opening of radioactive materials and conducting radiation surveys. Facilitates training and meetings on EHS policies, programs and practices. Reviews, completes and processes various types of logs, documents, databases, and related materials and information. Provides various support researching issues and developing recommendations to resolve employee, management and related customer issues. Assists in the review and implementation of EHS policies, practices and programs to meet organizational, operations and management needs. Assists with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations; receives guidance and direction or escalates when required. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of environmental, health and related safety, operations, or related experience; Associates degree preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

 

Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

Shipment of Hazardous Materials could be required depending on area of assignment.

Required Knowledge and Skills

 

Required Knowledge:

Intermediate to complex principles, practices and techniques of environmental, health and related safety programs and procedures. Intermediate to complex principles, practices and techniques of testing, handling and disposing of materials, waste, and other potentially hazardous items. Working with the daily administration and oversight of environmental, health and related safety programs, policies and procedures. Intermediate to complex methods to resolve environmental, health and related safety administrative or technical problems, questions and concerns. Ability to learn standard applicable environmental, health and related safety policies and procedures on lab and related operations. Computer applications and systems related to the work. Principles and practices to serving as an effective project team member. Methods to communicate with staff, coworkers, and customers to ensure safe, effective and appropriate operations. Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.

 

Required Skills:
