Role description:

Our Greensboro, NC team is seeking Entry Level Electrical Engineers to join their growing team! As an Electrical Engineer you will perform electrical design and coordination of various projects, involving municipal and industrial projects with an emphasis on utility distribution systems, as well as the analysis of existing systems. Short term travel in the region for project meetings, site visits, etc.

As part of the design and engineering team, you'll create some of the world’s most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us, from making journeys easier to opening up public places that bring people together and providing much needed water treatment facilities. 

Role accountabilities:

As an Entry Level Electrical Engineer attention to detail and strong organizational skills are paramount to ensure accuracy and precision in your work. You should be self-motivated and possess a team-oriented mindset, capable of collaborating effectively with others while also being able to work independently. A flexible attitude towards assignments will allow you to adapt to new projects and challenges regularly, demonstrating your initiative and ability to take on diverse responsibilities. You should also be equipped to handle and address new challenges as they arise, showcasing your problem-solving skills. Additionally, having an intermediate understanding and proficiency with software tools such as Microstation, Revit, and/or AutoCAD will be beneficial in carrying out your electrical engineering duties efficiently. 

In addition to the aforementioned, you also be accountable for: 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook). Ability to adapt to use of new design software which includes drafting, surveying and engineering, 3D modeling software. Basic knowledge of PLC controls and SCADA as well as SCADA network architecture. Basic knowledge of power, power distribution, motor controls, block diagrams, and variable frequency drives. Basic understanding of electrical codes and NFPA standards. Basic knowledge of power distribution. Field experience with instrumentation/electrical site inspections.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or closely related engineering field.

Preferred Qualifications

Interest in or completed college coursework in power distribution systems Local candidates preferred EIT certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire and ability to obtain Professional registration when eligible

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP,  401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement.  We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $52,000 - $78,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
