Entry Level Environmental Scientist (Clean Up Project)
Job Description The initial project they will support is a state program to demo and remove boats that were lost/abandoned during hurricanes. For this project, they will provide oversite of the contractors and report writing. The projects are located on the West Coast of Florida, from Crystal River to Naples, so there will likely be significant overnight travel required for the first 6-9 months (depending on where the person lives). Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a physical science. + Valid Florida Driver’s License. + Must be available for some overnight travel in Florida. + OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training with updates preferred. + Strong technical education, professional demeanor, and a desire to learn. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, including clients, agency personnel, and the public. + Proficient in the use of a computer to access, input, and review test data in spreadsheets, tables, graphs, and various software programs. + Strong written and verbal communication skills.
