Job Description
Assist the Geotechnical Engineer with tasks associated with field or site exploration activities. Communicate information to the Geotechnical Engineer and other team members while progressively increasing your role and responsibility with assigned equipment. Follow safety rules and practices for all projects, perform pre-task planning, and report any safety issues to management. Maintain quality standards on all projects and be open to travel and extensive walking through various terrains. Adhere to the company’s Safety, Quality Management, and Equipment Maintenance policies.
Responsibilities
+ Assist the Geotechnical Engineer with field or site exploration activities.
+ Communicate information to the Geotechnical Engineer and other team members.
+ Increase your role and responsibility progressively with assigned equipment.
+ Follow safety rules and practices for all projects.
+ Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work.
+ Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
+ Maintain quality standards on all projects.
+ Be open to travel and extensive walking through various terrains.
+ Adhere to the company’s Safety, Quality Management, and Equipment Maintenance policies.
Essential Skills
+ Expertise in geotechnical engineering, soil sampling, site cleanup, site assessment, sample collection, and field inspection.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Physical mobility in and around construction sites and field assignments.
+ Ability to carry field equipment and supplies in remote, rural, or urban surroundings.
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances.
+ Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
+ Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
+ Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience as a Geotechnical Field Contractor.
+ Capability to perform soil testing and site assessment.
Work Environment
The role involves working in the field at a solar site in Memphis. The environment requires extensive walking and carrying of equipment across various terrains. Adherence to safety, quality management, and equipment maintenance policies is essential.
