Project teams in our Energy & Industrial Group (EIG) support industry-leading projects in power generation, plant design, environmental compliance, mid/downstream oil & gas, and multi-disciplined industrial projects. We’re leading efforts to decarbonize the industry by utilizing advanced technologies in renewable energy, carbon capture, and hydrogen power. Our EIG teams perform detailed engineering services for photovoltaic (PV) solar projects and the integration of solar and energy storage. We’re the industry leader in carbon capture technologies with experience executing pilot-scale to commercial-scale projects for utilities, industrial plants, and direct air capture. We provide engineering services for green hydrogen production via electrolysis using solar, wind, hydro, and nuclear power sources and we support on-site usage in power generation, fuel cells, and fueling stations.
You will work on project teams with other I&C engineers involved in the design of new power and industrial plants, modifications to existing power generation and industrial facilities, and plant control system betterment projects.You will be involved in the preparation of specifications for the procurement of process instrumentation, controls systems, and related installation services. As a member of a multi-discipline project team, you will be involved in power and industrial plant design, including developing process control strategies and designing electrical control circuits. You will gain field experience traveling to client plant site locations for field verification of designs and construction coordination, to client and vendor offices for design reviews and meetings, and to vendor fabrication facilities to witness acceptance testing. Through mentoring, classroom-style technical sessions, and on-the-job training, you will increase your knowledge and skills within the I&C engineering discipline.Develop your career via peer-learning by way of S&L’s systems of process and associated “Communities of Practice”
This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 4 days per week, the 5th may be remote from home.

Essential skills and experience:
A BS or MS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (from an ABET accredited program) with a graduation in Fall 2024 or before and an academic background and coursework in analog and digital control systems is required.An understanding of the practical application of instrumentation and control system engineering and technology including applying systems, principles, techniques, and procedures to a project design.Proficiency with MS Office applications, with emphasis on MS Excel, Access, and Visio.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Effective experience working in a collaborative team environment.Exceptional work habitsResourceful and enthusiastic attitude
