Description A boutique intellectual property law firm with a small office in a quiet neighborhood in Carlsbad is seeking an entry-level legal assistant. 2024 was their best year yet, and they are looking to grow! This role affords flexible hours, a day or two per week to work remote, for an inspiring attorney! The firm has one attorney and four support staff. Candidates should be eager to work in a small law firm environment. Responsibilities of Role: o Billing: sending out invoices, fee schedules and estimates for clients o Sending out correspondence: engagement letters and cease & desist letters o Conducting USPTO knock-out searches o Preparing filings for the USPTO, retrieving documents on the site o Will teach how to draft legal documents, send out subpoenas, and docket! Lots of templates provided. Pay is contingent upon experience (towards $50K for candidates who have zero law firm experience, towards $60K for candidates with true legal assistant experience). The latter type of candidates are preferred.
