Position Overview
International is developing leading-edge commercial vehicle solutions to meet the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s customers. At International’s Advanced Technical Center in Elmendorf, TX, and the International Proving Ground in New Carlisle, IN, the Product Validation department performs testing of International’s future diesel and electric trucks and school buses.

International R & D has exciting opportunities for an Entry-Level Operations Engineer in the operations team at their Advance Technology Center in Elmendorf, Texas. The engineer will report to the site Senior Chief Engineer. They will support the activities of running the Advanced Technology Center as well as increase its technical capabilities. International products which include heavy trucks and school buses. Future vision of the site includes expanding capabilities to design/develop/validate electric and autonomous vehicles.
Responsibilities
Facility Engineering
+ Supporting running of the on-going validation and build activities.
+ Keep engineering equipment maintained and running, includes working closely with the facility maintenance team and outside vendors. Equipment includes hydraulic pumps, hydraulic actuators, cooling tower, hot room chassis dyno, etc.
+ Troubleshooting, diagnosing error, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing of engineering equipment.
+ Help track the site/facility improvement and repairs projects (manage the list)
Capital Engineering
+ Working with cross functional design and development teams to investigate needed technologies on-site to support the development, build, and validation of emerging technologies.
+ Investigate, plan, proposed, implement, and commission new technical site capabilities needed to support the development of market leading products.
+ Specify, quote, and/or build vehicle build and test equipment.
+ General labor around facility.
+ Other tasks as assigned.
+ Willing perform duties on-site.
Operations
+ Program hours planning. Work with functional groups on planning hours estimates for upcoming program. Work with actual data to refine estimate models for Wire Room, Fab Shop, and Test Techs.
+ Drive fabrication sourcing decisions to keep in house or outsource to supplier. Help with material planning and procurement.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
OR
+ Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment
Additional Requirements
+ Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
+ Good interpersonal and organization skills.
+ Able to work with multiple cross functional teams and manage multiple projects.
+ Capable of taking input from engineering team and generating statement or work/specifications for new equipment and/or facilities.
+ Able to work with suppliers to investigate technologies and get quotes on proposed capital projects. Install and commission equipment and/or facilities.
+ Supply turnkey solutions to product development, build, and validation groups.
+ Able to use CAD for equipment and building layouts.
+ Adept to learning how to maintain and repair engineering equipment.
+ Basic MS Office knowledge
