Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for end users regarding the requisitioning process and systems. This role involves reviewing procurement requests, advising and training personnel, and maintaining accurate records of purchases. The ideal candidate will help optimize value across all expenditures and ensure compliance with preferred contracts, policies, and procedures.
ResponsibilitiesAct as a customer service representative to end users.Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries regarding the requisitioning process and systems to assist, advise, and resolve basic concerns.Review procurement requests for clarity, accuracy, and completeness, aiding in optimizing value across all expenditures by ensuring end-user compliance to preferred contracts, policies, and procedures.Advise and train campus personnel and outside suppliers on purchasing policies and procedures.Recommend updates for purchasing policies and procedures when necessary.Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories, and collect data to determine price reasonableness for new items, accurately documenting findings.Perform purchase order and receiving monitoring, and inform and assist end users on closing out existing purchase orders.Work with Accounts Payable and other departments to resolve delivery, suspense, quality, and payment problems.Identify and maintain online goods and services catalogs.Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in purchasing, procurement, purchase order management, and supply chain operations.Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.Ability to handle data entry and maintain accurate records.Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration required.Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a procurement role or other related experience.Work Environment
The position follows a hybrid schedule with work hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The work environment offers upward mobility with potential to move into higher-level procurement roles or strategic sourcing roles.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
