Job Title: Production Associate
Job Description

As a Production Associate, you will ensure that raw materials, intermediates, and finished products conform to specifications through sensory evaluations, analytical and microbial testing, and process plant observation. You will document and monitor SPC data, adjust product batches, inspect equipment, and maintain organized QA records. You will also conduct verification testing, maintain lab equipment, and perform incubation testing and package integrity checks.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure raw materials, intermediates, and finished products meet specifications through sensory evaluations, analytical and microbial testing, and process plant observations.Document and monitor SPC data, identify trends, and communicate findings.Adjust intermediate and finished product batches to meet specification requirements.Approve batches in SAP before processing through the UHT system.Inspect transfer, mixing, and processing equipment for proper cleaning and quality practices.Monitor equipment for allergen, ATP, and microbial compliance and conduct verification testing.Evaluate and document test results and communicate deviations from specifications.Ensure deviations from product quality or specifications are placed on hold.Maintain organized and clean work areas and timely QA records.Operate, maintain, and calibrate lab equipment.Collect retention samples and maintain organized storage.Assist in placing raw materials and finished goods on hold and release with proper documentation.Perform incubation testing on finished products and monitor incubation room temperatures.Perform package integrity checks through visual and destructive tests.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.Meticulous attention to detail.Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Commitment to organizational objectives.Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.Ability to work with moderate supervision, be detail-oriented, and exercise independent judgment.Strong interpersonal communication skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.Knowledge of sample testing methods from educational or professional lab settings.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a lab, warehouse, or production environment.Ability to work around food products and potential odorous conditions.Comfortable with shift work, heavy lifting, and constant standing.Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, hazardous materials, high voltage, and hot pipes.Willingness to work overtime if required.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

You will be working in a food processing facility, which involves the extensive use of office and lab equipment. The position requires shift work, heavy lifting, constant standing, and frequent walking between multiple buildings. You will work around moving mechanical parts, hazardous materials, high voltage, and hot pipes. The noise level is typically moderate to loud, and some overtime may be required. Various shifts are available, including front half grave, back half grave, front half day, back half day, and day shifts. Candidates on graveyard shifts will receive a differential pay and a bonus structure.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
